Antidisciplinary Workshop of Care (2022)
Together with Generation 31, I had the opportunity to collaborate on the Antidisciplinary Workshop of Care as part of the 2022 State of Fashion Biennale. This project was an extension of our previous effort, the Antidisciplinary Workbook of Care, and aimed to explore the vital role that care plays in our lives and society.
As the lead of the visual and material production team, my responsibilities included sourcing textile materials and overseeing the creation of the final installation alongside my teammates. The exhibition featured a 'testimonial of care,' made up of carefully embroidered t-shirts and fabric, which symbolized the importance of community and knowledge in nurturing care.
The Workshop of Care provided a transformative experience for participants, who engaged with different forms of care and focused on the relationships between care, community, and knowledge. Through the immersive experience of embroidering and listening, an installation-like setting slowly emerged in the central exhibition space.
The Workshop of Care was a powerful reminder of the importance of empathy, compassion, and understanding in our world today, and the positive impact we can make when we work together to support one another.
